Brooch 1

A beautiful example of a Knox silver and enamel brooch which started life as a button. The conversion was carried out way back and I believe the piece works very well as a brooch.

The blue green enamels, so typical of Knox depicting the sea and land of his birthplace, are perfect despite being well over 100 years old.

Please see Dr Stephen Martin's book "Archibald Knox" 2001, page 271 for the button design.

This example has the "Cymric" mark denoting Liberty & Co.
