In 1914 Canon John Quine refurbished All Saints' Church Lonan and Archibald Knox designed a pavement for the church.
The pavement is still in the building and thanks to Julie Quine we have a letter from Canon Quine to his son showing a sketch of the pavement and referring to AK as the designer.
The design reminds some of the work of the great Dutch abstract artist Piet Mondrian. An image below of Mondrian's Composition No.6 (1914) is the work that most shows a similarity with colour and some shapes.
