A delightful Archibald Knox for Murrle Bennett silver and enamel card case.
This design by Archibald Knox is listed in the Liberty silver sketch book number 5015 (available on request).
Murrle Bennett was an Anglo German firm that made silver for Liberty and under its own mark.
The case does not contain its original writing paper or ivory. The case is sprung so naturally sits tightly closed. An image of this case will be published in Dr Stephen Martin’s forthcoming revised third edition of his book on Archibald Knox. This piece was made in the UK, not imported.
This item is dated 1904.
