A couple of minor chips, as shown in the photographs. One on the top rim & one to the base edge which can’t be seen when stood upright.
It has, by the look of it, been painted red at some point in its lifetime. Most of this has flaked away. I have brushed clean with lukewarm water, but I don’t want to go heavy handed with it, I’ll leave that to the new owner. It’s never bothered me, but then it was just a big pot sat in my front garden.
I’ve been made aware that some of these pots were manufactured by Carter & Company, later becoming Poole Pottery. Which I would imagine is where this piece began its life, seeing as I live in Poole town centre.
