A Liberty & Co silver “Cymric” mantel clock designed by Archibald Knox, for Liberty & Co.in 1902.
The slightly tapering form embossed with a foliate motif and stylised numerals with replacement hands.
The barrel drum movement is working and the clock is with a later altered platform lever escapement.
This is the only example of this clock known to exist and it is model 5073 in the Liberty Silver Sketchbook.
Height 18.5cm.
This clock, together with others from this private collection, will appear in Dr Stephen A Martin’s new book on Archibald Knox.
