Horse Walk and Farm Buildings, Isle of Man

Date(s): c.1920

Creator(s): Knox, Archibald

Scope & Content: The remains of a disused horse walk on the Isle of Man. The horse was attached to the long pole and walked around a circle. The long shaft was attached by gears to an axle which passed underground to machinery in the lower part of the barn building where the corn was processed.

There is an example of the internal workings in The Grove Rural Life Museum at Ramsey.
