A stunning Archibald Knox Liberty & Co Cymric silver preserve or jam jar hallmarked for Birmingham 1905. The bowl is still with its original spoon, similarly hallmarked 1905. The glass is by Harry Powell of Whitefriars. This piece is a really good example illustrating Knox’s ability to harmonise his designs with elegant Celtic design and vibrant enamels. This jar, without its spoon, appears on page 209 of Steve Martin’s book on Knox, second edition. Both jar and spoon are marked 2264, for model 2264 in the Liberty Silver Sketch book. The glass and silver are in excellent conidtion, with just mnor areas of restoration to the enamel. The enamel is particulalry vibrant.
