A really stunning, rare, Archibald Knox necklace in its original box. The design is a classic complex
Knox design augmented with beautiful enamels. The enamels are perhaps the nicest I have seen by
Liberty with a play of red, green and blue. See “Archibald Knox”, 2nd Edition, page 252, by Stephen
Martin for the same necklace set with mother of pearl.
Maker: Liberty
Designer: Archibald Knox
Date: c 1900
Marks: Unmarked

An Art Nouveau gold and mother of pearl necklace of openwork whiplash links inset with mother of pearl panels, joined by trace link chains and set with seed-pearls, in the style of Archibald Knox (1864-1933).
Apparently unmarked, contained in a fitted leather case, the hinged lid stamped in gilt 'Liberty and Co Ltd, Regent Street, London'.
Photograph and description courtesy of Bearnes, Hampton and Littlewood, auctioneers.
This is definitely by Archibald Knox.
